Arising from their institutional structures, corporates have a number of responsibility activities and strategies which are based on the institutional preferences and which are obliged to be fulfilled so as to survive in the competition environment in the face of their counterparts, clients, governments, nongovernmental organizations, the rest of the society as well as the world we survive in. Following the global increase of the corporate responsibility, particularly the first hundred biggest international corporations in the global scale, as well as the national corporations, have started to be inclined towards the social and environmental requirements beyond the economic realities.Generally this study covers a review of the development of the corporate social responsibility perception as well as the corporate-environment relations within the framework of the corporate social responsibility activities.With this study, it is intended to identify the measures for the environmental protection and the reasons lying behind the corporate environmental protection strategies, and to analyze these findings in the axis of `corporate environmentalism?. Accordingly, a field study was conducted with a view to reach a judgment on the environmental attitudes and conducts of the corporations across Turkey.It can be deduced from the survey responds that the tendencies of the corporations for the environmental protection have increased after the 1990s, and particularly for the last 10 years. Statutory obligations, the increase in the social environmental awareness and the fact of competition in the international markets have substantial effect on this increase.
