Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is an application of linearprogramming that has been used to measure the relative efficiency ofoperating units with the same goals and objectives.The aim of this paper is to measure the efficiency of the state and privatebanks in Turkey and to investigate whether the differentiation in the efficiencyof banks. In this context, we analyze the efficiency of banks by using dataenvelopment analysis (DEA) and try to identify which banks were the mostefficient in the period December 2002- September 2004.In the analysis part of the study, efficiency scores of Turkish banks aremeasured and banks?s efficiency exchange mentioned.To the results of the study, size of the bank assets influence theefficiency scores of banks good. And state banks are more efficient thanprivate banks.
