Ailevi Akdeniz Ateşi'nde ?nterlökin-4 gen polimorfizminin hastalığın seyrine olan etkisi
Özet
IL-4 is the most important stimulant of IgE synthesisand induces differentiation of naive helper T cells to Th2 cells. IL-4 is producedby Th2 cell, subgroup of CD4 expressing T helper cells and activated mast cells. The most important function of IL-4 is to induce IL-4 induces B-cell classswitching to IgE. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of IL-4 genepolymorphism on the prognosis of Famial Mediterrenean Fever (FMF). There isno studies about relationship of IL 4 gene polymorphism and FMF.. A total of109 FMF patients and 115 control subjects were enrolled in this study. Age ofonset of FMF, arthritis, erysipels-like erythema, edema, amyloidosis, number ofattacks per year before and after treatment are also noted and a severity score iscalculted with a formula which is developed by Pras et al. Assesment of -590 C/Tbase substition in the promoter of IL-4 was made with polymerase chain reaction(PCR). 74 (%67,88) of 109 patients were genotyped C/C gene polymorphism, 30patients were genotyped C/T IL-4 gene polymorphism and 5 patients weregenotyped T/T IL-4 gene polymorphism. 79 of 115 control subjects weregenotyped C/C IL-4 gene polymorphism, 31 subjects were genotyped C/T IL-4gene polymorphism, 5 subjects were genotyped T/T IL-4 gene polymorphism. No statistically significant differences were observed in genotype betweenpatients and control subjects (p>0.05). there was no statistically significantdifference in genotype between patıients with and without amyloidosis (p>0.05)but there was few patients with amyloidosis. In conclusion findings of this studycan be cornerstone for further studies.
