Kur'ân âyetlerinin tarihlendirilmesi sorunu ve Kur'ân'a kronolojik-olgusal bir yaklaşım (1 rebiu'l-evvel?4 rebiu'l-evvel arası)
Özet
This dissertation comprises an introduction, three main chapters, a conclusion and three appendixes. In introduction subject, literary survey, method and sources are presented.Chapter 1 investigates the dating of the revelation in Islamic tradition in two stages. The first stage reviews the reports and views about the order of ayahs and surahs as reflected in classical Islamic sources. The second stage examines the knowledge of Makki-Madani, asbab al-nuzul, and nash as traditional criteria for determining the chronological order of the ayahs or surahs in Islamic tradition.Chapter 2 focuses on the Western approaches to dating the revelation. These attempts can be classified into two groups. Though Gustav Weil, J. Medows Rodwell, Theodor Nöldeke and Régis Blachère almost have the same order of the surahs as that of Islamic tradition, Sir William Muir, Hartwig Hirschfeld, Richard Bell and W. Montgomery Watt have different and critical orders.Chapter 3 covers the sequence of the events and the related ayahs between AH 1 (Rabi al-avval) and AH 4 (Rabi al-avval) on the basis of early Sira literature. Depending on the historical context of these ayahs, the dissertation attempts to re-order them chronologically by using the historical-critical method. The general consequences of the dissertation are listed in the conclusion. In the appendixes the Makki-Madani surahs and exceptional ayahs in Islamic tradition, the Western classifications of surahs and the chronological sequence of the events and ayahs discussed in the third chapter are given respectively in charts.
