Mısırkurdu (Ostrinia nubilalis HBN Lepidoptera: pyralidae)'nun pupalarına uygulanan gamma radyasyonunun erginlerde meydana getirdiği kısırlığın ve erginlerin çiftleşme gücüne etkilerinin laboratuvar koşullarında araştırılması

In mis study, various effects of different gamma irradiation dosages on the pupae of European Corn Borer (Ostrinia nubiialis Hbn.) were investigated. Studies were carried out in a room maintained at 26 + 1°C, 65 T 5 % RH and 16:8 h photoperiod. The larvae of o. nubiialis Hbn were reared artificially. Same aged pupae were irradiated one day before adult emergence. Male pupae were treated with 10,20,25,30,32.5 and 35 krad; female pupae 10,15,17.5, 20 and 22,5 krad gamma radiation doses. It was deter mined that males and females irradiated with 32.5 and 15 krad, respectively, were fully sterile. In addition, effects of irradiation doses on the adult emergence, mating and op position, and lengevity was investigated. KEY WORD S : O strinia nu bilalis Hbn, gamma radiation, sterility.
