Özet
46 SUMMARY In this research the adjustment levels of licended high school athletes, and high school students who only attend the weekly two hours of physical Education lessons, are compared withinthe terms of independent alternatives like age, sex, and their attendance to sportive activities as individuals or as team with its frequency and attendance manner. The research is only limited with the students of Mustafa Kemal Lisesi in the county Yenimahalle of the province Ankara. The 122 students who attended the sportive activitiesas licenced athelets formed the principal group (Sportive activity attendants) and they were coupled with the 124 students, who only attended the weekly two hours of physical education lessons, with the regard of their age, sex and class, whon they formed the control group (non-attendants to sportive activities). This was applied to a total of 246 stu dents in the second term of 1990 study year. The information of the samples is attained with the aid of a questionnaise developed by the. researcher. The samples adjustment levels is being determined with the aid of Hacettepe Kişilik Unvander; (HKE) developed by Hacettepe University instructors Özgüven (1982). The validity, and confidence coef f iciencies done by various researchers are found for HKE in the order of.85,.90. In the result of this research, the adjustment levels between licenced athlete students, and high school students who only attend the weekly two hours of physical education lessons, regarded within the terms- 47 of age, sex and independent alternatives like their at tendance frequency and manner to sportive activites, has not being found any significant difference. Depending on the results of the research we can sya that sportive activities of licenced athlete stu dents mental health (adjustment level) is not more af fective than the weekly two hors of physical Education activities. From this result; sources who are managed to educate licenced athletes should be equally propor tioned to physical Education activities in high schools. In short physical Education activities presented to students will be much more useful in terms of the general goals of sport when more sources are left out for them. To make sure that attendance frequency and manner to sportive activities has an influence on the indivudual's adjustment level, there is a need for re searches on the comparison of the ones who attend the sportive activities more frequently and the ones who rarely attend or do not attend at all.
