Tanzimat ve Mutlakiyet Dönemi çocuk dergilerinin eğitim açısından incelenmesi
Abstract
The main purpose of this study was to investigate the children magazines, publicated in Tanzimat and Mutlakiyet periods, in terms of education. Through this describtive study totally 18 children magazines were examined (6 for Tanzimat and 12 for Mutlakiyet period). The study includes three main sections. While the first section composed the examining of children magazines of Tanzimat period, in the second section, the children magazines of Mutlakiyet period were investigated. The third and the last section of the study includes the results and offers. For the study of magazines four main dimensions were determined, in the first, the general intruductory of magazines were made. Secondly, the education, man, childhood, and the value understandings of magazines were studied. In addition, the instruction subjets which took place in these magazines were analyzed. The results showed that, the education which took place in the magazines publicated in Tanzimat and Mutlakiyet periods was discussed entirely in terms of understandings and practice. The children magazines which were rich in terms of education, also includes the thoughts of education understandings and the reformist thoughts of these periods which affected to the modernization of Turkish education. The education of girls, educational problems, instructional methots, critizm of traditional education, the science and the civilization understandings etc. were the most important subject titles that magazines put forward, in the analyzed magazines there were important knowladges that reflect the childhood understandings of Tanzimat and Mutlakiyet periods.
