In this study, anxiety disorded (N: 52) and normal people (N:52) werecompared for the interpersonal relation styles, anger, self-perception, generalsyptoms and anxiety symptoms. Interpersonal relationship styles, anger, selfperception,general symptoms and anxiety were evaluated with ?InterpersonalRelation Styles Scale?, Multidimensional Anger Questionnaire?, ?SocialComparison Scale?, ?Brief Symptom Inventory? and ?Beck Anxiety Inventory?.Statistical analyses revealed that anxiety disorded peoples had more negativeinterpersonal relation styles, their sef-perception was more negative, they hadmore interpersonal anger and anger related behaviours and they experiencedmore general and anxiety symptoms. Hierarchic-regression analyses showedthat anxiety was predicted by interpersonal relation styles, anger and selfperception. For the anxiety group, anxiety was best predicted by gender, calmbehaviours, and quality of interpersonal relations; whereas for the ?normal?group anxiety was best predicted only by income. It was concluded thatcommunication and anger management skills and relaxation training couldhelp anxiety disorded people to lower their anxiety symptoms.
