Firstly, t test was performed to the results obtained with the help of four subscales of AMTB (Attitude and Motivation Test Battery) in order to determine whether the quantative differences in students? motivation related to their gender were significant. Moreover, ANOVA test was performed to find out whether the quantative differences in students? motivation related to their ages, high school types and university departments were significant. Also, LSD test was used to find the source of the difference According to the data obtained by AMTB, there is a significant difference between the girls and the boys? scores of ?Integrative Orientation?, ?Motivational Intensity? sub-scales and the ?total? scores of four sub- scales of AMTB. In other words, there is a meaningful difference between the motivation of boys and girls in the English Class. Also, there is a significant difference between the scores of only ?Instrumental Orientation? subscale with relation to the different university department types which the students will study at. However, the differences between the scores of students related to their age and the type of high school which they have graduated are not significant.According to the data obtained by BALLI (Beliefs About Language Learning Inventory), there is a significant difference between the scores of certain items obtained by the students with relation to their gender, the high school types which they have graduated and the university department types which they will study at.In addition, ANOVA and LSD tests were performed to determine whether there is a relation between the scores obtained by AMTB?s four sub-scales and the four chosen items of BALLI. According the data, when these four items of BALLI are considered, students? motivation to learn English varies with respect to their beliefs about language learning .
