The purpose of this study is to compare attitudes of participants towards woman?s working according to sex, gender roles, marital status, age, socioeconomic status and city of residence. In study, executed with 796 (395 female, 401 male) participants who live in large-scale cities (Tokat, Yozgat and Kırıkkale) and metropolis (Ankara, İstanbul and İzmir), Socioeconomic Status Scale was applied to determine participants?s socioeconomic statuses and demographic attributes, Bem Gender Role Inventory was applied to assess gender roles and Attitude Towards Woman?s Working Scale was applied to determine the attitude towards woman?s working.The findings indicated that:1.Attitudes of female participants towards woman?s working are significantly more positive than attitudes of male participants.2.There is no disparity between attitudes of participants towards woman?s working according to gender role and age.3.Attitudes of single participants towards woman?s working are significantly more positive than attuitudes of married participants.4.Participants, who live in metropolis, have more positive attitudes towards woman?s working than participants who live in large-scale cities.5.High-socioeconomic-status participants have more positive attitudes towards woman?s working than low-socioeconomic-status ones.6.Female participants, who have masculine, androgynous and undifferentiated gender role, have more positive attitudes towards woman?s working than male participants, who have masculine, androgenous and undifferentiated gender role.7.High-socioeconomic-status participants who live in large-scale cities have more positive attitudes towards woman?s working than low-socioeconomic-status ones.8.Female in different age-group have more positive attitudes towards woman? s working than male participants in different age-group.9.In study significant correlations between socioeconomic status, femininity-masculinity, age, educational level and the attitude towards woman?s working were observed.
