Uluslararası Bakalorya ve ulusal programlardan mezun olan öğrencilerin ortaöğretim diploma notları ve ÖSS puanlarının karşılaştırılması

The aim of this study is to investigate if there is a considerabledifference between the students who are graduated from InternationalBaccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the students who aregraduated from National Programme based on their general cumulative intheir diploma and received scores in the ÖSS. The research can becharacterized as a causal comparative scanning model. The study groupconsists of 682 students who have graduated from TED Ankara Koleji in theyears 2003, 2004, 2005, and who have been admitted to the IBDP, 132 ofwhich have graduated from the IB Diploma Program and 550 from theNational program. The students from both programs are selected from thefields of either Turkish-Mathematics or Sciences. In this study, It was usedtwo-way MANOVA to test whether there is a considerable difference betweenthe students graduated from the IBDP and the National Programme on thesubjects of High School Diploma Grades and ÖSS Quantitative and Equal-weighted scores. That is, Pearson correlation coefficient was used to find therelation between Diploma Grades and ÖSS Quantitative and Equal-weightedscores. According to the research results, it is observed that students?diploma grades and OSS scores in IB programme are higher than the ones innational programme. Regardless of the type of the programme, it is foundthat diploma grade is a predictor of OSS score.
