And, altough the total number of villages which make a living from tourism, stonecarving and wood work handicrafts are not included in 1981 inventory, this are present in1997 inventory. The distrubution of the means of subsistence types in Turkish subprovinces isstrongly related to geographical conditions. In the plains fields where climate is proper, agriculture is widespread while breeding is in the second place. As altitude and effects ofcontinental climate increase, agriculture recedes and breeding proceeds. Apart from these,fruit-growing and vegetable-growing are related to the types of fruits and vegetable yougrow and climate and soil characteristics, too. Bee-keeping -if flora characteristics areproper- , mining -if the geological structure is proper-and extracting and carving variousstones can also be means of subsistence.
