The research area which is İskenderun town situates in the Adana region on the north coast of İskenderun Bay in the Mediterranean. This town which is connected to the city Hatay is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea in the west and high Amanos Mountains in its east. The town is settled on a narrow debris area and it has been flatten and filled with the materials which have come from slope of Amanos Mountains. İt is seen that the research area consists of three different types of land shapes together. The land shapes which you can find here are coast plain, mountanious area and values. The Mediterranean climate type which is hot and dry in summer, warm and rainy in winter is seen in this place. As a result of effects of Mediterranean Climate there are wide forest areas which are full of trees that are need of sunlight and resistant to drought. İn the areas where the forests are destroyed, bush formations rise up to 600 meters hight. A great amount of people who are in these research area deal with duty field. This changes in the countryside. The people in the countryside of research area deal with agriculture. The town which is situated on a profitable coast plain primarily agricultural goods are grown as well as this wheat, vegetable, corn, cotton and tobacco and also planted goods such as apricot, olive, orange and lemon are grown. İn İskenderun town as a result of rapidly developing industrial activities causes increase in people who work in this field. By developing industrialization many people migrate to this town and causes evident increase in population. 237The avarege heat in the research area which is above 20°C throughout the 6 months of the year gives the opportunity for swimming. For this reason Sea thourism is more developed, in addition to this because there are no enough historical places and inadequate substructure for thourism only a few foreign thourists rarely visit this place. The local thourists which come to this area usually consists of people from nearly towns and cities for daily visits.
