Angle sınıf 1 anomaliye sahip vakaların çekimli-çekimsiz, headgearli-headgearsiz tedavileri sonucunda meydana gelen iskeletsel ve dentoalveoler değişikliklerin incelenmesi
Özet
The Evaluation of Skeletal and Dentoalveolar Changes Observed in Angle Class I Malocclusion Treated with and without Extraction and with and without Headgear Use. In this study, the treatment results were compared in Class I patients- treated with and without extraction and with and without headgear use- who were in prepeak or postpeak growth periods. All the cases had normal vertical and sagittal growth patterns. The study was carried on 8 prepeak and postpeak treatment groups and prepeak and postpeak control groups where cases received no orthodontic treatment. The material consisted of 244 pre and post treatment cephalometric and 122 hand-wrist films. The extraction groups had 4 first premolar extractions, where as the headgear groups had cervical hedagears. In each group, changes caused by treatment or spontaneous development were identified. The effects of these changes during the prepeak and postpeak periods were compared. The initial pretreatment variances among the groups were compared using Variance Analysis. Wilcoxon test was used for the variances within a group. The differences among various treatment methods applied at the same development period were identified using Kruskall Wallis test. Mann-Whitney U test was used the compare the differences of the same treatment groups at the different development periods. According to the results, there was a statistically significant reduction in the maxillary development in headgear groups at prepeak growth period, the112 same difference at postpeak growth period was insignificant. The changes in the mandibular plane angle was not different among any of the groups. There were significant lower and upper incisor retractions for both prepeak and postpeak extraction groups. Both prepeak and postpeak groups that received the same treatment showed similar effects at the development period. Keywords: Growth and development, extraction, Edgewise, Headgear, Class I.
