Özet
The reflection of the characteristic learning behaviors of gifted students in the processes of teaching religion was examined in the study. The study was designed with a qualitative research approach, the "phenomenon science" (phenomenological) pattern was used in the scope of the research. The working group of the research has been selected from students in the 6th -12th grades who are diagnosed as having special skills in the field of general mental ability. The data of the research were obtained from 41 students who attended Denizli Nezihe-Derya Baltalı Science and Art Center in the field of general mental ability in the fall semester of the 2019- 2020 academic year. A semi-structured interview form is preferred to collect the research data. In the analysis of the research data, traces of the learning characteristics characteristic of gifted students have been tried to be captured; on the other hand, it has been attempted to make sense of these characteristics in terms of the processes of teaching religion. Therefore, in data analysis, both content analysis and descriptive analysis method are used together. The research findings and discussion have been reported under three main topics/themes. These are the topics in which the educational situations of gifted students in the religious field, the learning goals in the teaching of religion and the teaching approaches they adopt in the teaching of religion are processed. The research findings has revealed that gifted students also actively use their characteristic high-level thinking skills in religious field thinking and learning environments. This situation has revealed that students need activities/environments that allow them to use and improve their thinking skills in religious teaching processes. It has been observed that the students' objectives regarding religious field learning processes and their explanations on teaching approaches, methods and techniques have a complementary and reinforcing quality. It has also been revealed that students have an improved self-management skills in their religious field learning.
