Ankara'da ambulansların en uygun konumlarını bulmak için bir CBS çözümü
Özet
Ambulance service is very important in today's health care system especially when an accident happens on the road or in a place where a patient is difficult to transport in hospital. Transporting a patient to the hospital seems easy but in actual situations, it is quite difficult especially during rush hours when the volume of traffic is high and in the areas far from the hospital. However, the Geographical Information System (GIS) provides a solution to this problem and it is applied to other countries around the world. In this study, the GIS solution through its network analysis tool was used for ambulance service in the city of Ankara. The purpose is to find the optimal location of an ambulance for emergency response. This study will analyze how many ambulance stations must be added in the area to improve the emergency medical services and it will analyze the nearest hospital that should send an ambulance to the outside patient that needs an emergency response. The data used in this study for the analysis part were public hospitals in Ankara through their actual locations. The name and address of all selected hospitals were encoded to Microsoft Excel as CSV file format in order to recognize it as network dataset in the application. The analysis is composed of three different phases and conducted using the ArcGIS tool. After getting results of the analysis, additional stations were proposed for further improvement of ambulance service. The result of this study can contribute to the emergency medical services of Ankara and can be applied in other cities.
