Abstract
In this study, it is aimed to compare inflectional endings both in German and Turkish simultaneously. The comparison has been made in a unilateral way based on German. In the first section, information about the importance and benefits of comparison studies has been given and the purpose and the importance of the thesis have also been stated. In the second section, inflection and inflectional endings have been defined. Moreover, articles which serve an important function in noun inflections in German have also been mentioned.In the third, the fourth and the fifth sections, the issue of inflection that makes up the core of the study has been discussed. Inflection is divided into three categories in German: declension, gradation and verb inflection. These inflections have respectively been indicated in detail. In the third section, declension and nouns, pronouns and adjectives in this category have been dealt with and by specifying the endings of these words their equivalents in Turkish have been indicated. In the fourth section, gradation has been discussed, endings added to the adjectives and pronouns in this inflection category have been dealt with and compared with Turkish. In the fifth section, verb inflection in German has been explained. After showing endings in this inflection one by one, the have been compared with the ones used in Turkish. In the conclusion section, findings acquired as result of the study have been indicated. In this study, it is possible to access detail information about the inflection endings in both languages.
