This study aims to determine how digital communication technologies affect the academic's working practice; It aimed to evaluate the size of the current impact, the advantages and disadvantages it provided for the academician. The problematic of how digital communication technologies have an effect on academicians' working practice has been discussed through the parameters of flexible working, corporate communication, working style and work-life balance. Finally, the remote working experience of academicians in the COVID-19 process was evaluated. Qualitative research design was adopted in this study. Considering that it will provide more comprehensive information in the research based on phenomenological approach, the data were collected through in-depth interviews. Maximum diversity sampling was preferred in order to create a working group consisting of academicians with different universities, disciplines, titles, ages, gender and positions. As a result of the field research conducted, it is stated that digital communication technologies are used extensively in the academy It has been found that it increases flexible working, makes corporate communication flexible, transforms the way work is done, and disrupts the work-life balance. In-depth interviews revealed that digital communication technologies offer a number of disadvantages to academics in terms of obscuring work and leisure time, disrupting work-life balance, and making corporate communication flexible. It has been determined that it provides an advantage in the processes of accessing, disseminating, storing and producing information, that is, it facilitates and accelerates the way the work is done.
