Abstract
In this study, the characteristics and nature of the "Tahrir Book No. KK 102, dated back to M.1577 / H.985 " belonging to the el-Hille Brigade in the 16th century was studied. In the light of this book, the geographical location, its importance, history, population, economic and productive situation and administrative structure of the el-Hille have been examined. In addition, the information contained in this book has been collected and evaluated and important information has been presented regarding the neighbourhoods, towns, rivers, farms, village figures, communities and groups at the time. This research consists of the introduction, three main chapters, the conclusion, and an appendix containing literal copies of the Tahrir Book under study. In the introduction, explanatory information was given about Iraq and the book that we studied. Chapter I began by clarifying the meaning of the name of the el-Hilla and briefly addressed the historical phase of its establishment in the Ottoman period. In the second chapter of our research, the geography and administrative structure of the el-Hille Brigade were defined in connection with the information contained in the book. In the third chapter, the population and economic structure of the el-Hille Brigade were clarified based on the information contained in the book. In conclusion, the most important findings were generally presented through our study. In the appendix section, there is the literal transcription of pages 218 to 303 concerning the el-Hille Brigade Book No. 102 K. K. dated M.1577 / H.985 which is preserved in the archive of old records of the Real Estate Registration Directorate.
