Odysseia ve Anna Karenina eserleri bağlamında destandan romana kahramanın dönüşümü
Özet
In this study, which aims to examine the transformations of the hero from epic to novel, Odysseus and Anna Karenina works were analysed. In the analysis of both works, the poetical method (or the method of poetica), which we can also call the Aristotelian tradition, was used. In addition to this method in which the general characteristics of literary genres are tried to be determined from partial works, categories such as the realistic attitude and daimonic character of the hero determined by Lukacs for the purpose of comparing the heroes were also used. In the context of comparison of Odysseus and Anna Karenina works, similar and different qualities of hero of epic and novel are tried to be examined. In this context, it is seen that the heroes of the epic and the novel, which are the products of different historical and social conditions, have opposing features except for their adventurous personalities. Therefore, it has been concluded that the transition from epic to novel is not an evolutionary process in the true sense of the word, but it will be a more correct approach to treat the novel as a negation of the epic. There are many distinctions between the heroes of epic and novel, but the main factor that distinguishes the heroes of these two genres is their attitude to the time they are in. While the hero of the epic marches with the time, the hero of the novel either fall behind the time or tries to overcome it.
