In this master thesis entitled "The Position of Museum Education in Archaeology Education" the theme of "to what extend the museum education is covered and to what extend it should be covered in archeology undergraduate programme given within the context of museology education" has been treated. Within the context of this research, first the relationship between archeology and education has been examined and then in what ways and by whom the education activities have been carried out in archeological museums, archeological sites and also archeo-parks – for they are taken into consideration within the context of open air museums-have been treated by the examples taken both from Turkey and abroad.Within the context of this research, the nature of archeological education both in Turkey and abroad and the position of the museology lessons in archeological programmes in the universites of Turkey have been examined. When we study the programmes of 59 universities compiled from the data-base of the Council of Higher Education, it is seen that museology lessons were conducted under different titles and and differentiate into sections ranging between elective and core courses. If we examine, to what extend the museum education is treated or whether or not it is treated, we see that it is frequently ignored. In the departments which include courses on museum education it is seen that only the theory-based part of the education is taken into consideration. At the end of the research we think that museum education must be given preferential treatment within the archeological programmes. Educational activities is a field of study to which the museums attach importance progressively and these activities are carried out-for the museums- by the archeologists. At the final section of the research, we offer a course module that deal with museum education for museology lessons in full scale in archeological undergraduate programmes. Key Words: Archaeology, archeology undergraduate education, museology course, museum education, public archaeology.
