Ecological thought, which emerged systematically in the post-industrial period, has experienced some breaks over time. The most important of these is the emergence of environmentalism. Environmentalism choose to compromise by making small gains with today's understanding of nature and society and shifted to reformism. In contrast, ecological thinking has developed and continues to develop approaches that offer different alternatives to today's understanding of nature and society. Deep ecology and social ecology, representing two main trends in ecological thought, form the design of nature and society within the framework of new concepts, principles and approaches. The holistic worldview of deep ecology which will be discussed in the second part, constitutes the design of nature and society within the framework of the principles of ecocentrism, self-realization and biospheric egalitarianism. Social ecology, which will be emphasized in the third chapter, reveals the design of nature with the concept of first nature and second nature, while revealing the design of society with the libertarian municipalism approach. In the fourth section, the design of nature and society will be critically discussed within the framework of the basic concepts and principles of deep ecology and social ecology.
