| dc.description.abstract | Bu çalışmada, 16S bakteriyel kütüphanesi kullanılarak buğday ve arpanın önemli zararlıları arasında yer alan Eurygaster integriceps türüne ait yeni bir Serratia marcescens türü tanımlanmıştır. Türkiye genelinde E. integriceps türünün yaygın olduğu 15 farklı ilden 300 adet yüzeyi sterilize edilmiş örnek, S. marcescens enfeksiyonu açısından analiz edilmiştir. S. marcescens enfeksiyon sıklığı farklı popülasyonlar arasında ve cinsiyetler arasında değişiklik göstermiştir. İlginç bir şekilde, test edilen zararlı popülasyonlarının bir kısmının S. marcescens ile enfekteli olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. E. integriceps türünde bulunan S. marcescens enfeksiyonunun rolü hala belirsizliğini korumaktadır ancak bu çalışmadan elde edilen sonuçlar, simbiyontun zararlıya karşı alternatif kontrol stratejileri geliştirmede önemli veriler sağlamıştır. In this work, we reported the identification of a new Serratia marcescens strain in the field collected samples of sunn pest, Eurygaster integriceps which is a major constraint to wheat and barley. 300 surface sterilized environmental samples from 15 different regions of Turkey were analyzed in terms of S. marcescens infection using 16S bacterial library. Infection frequencies varied among different populations and males/females, as well. Interestingly, some of the sunn pest populations tested was not infected with S. marcescens. The role of S.marcescens infection involved in sunn pest is still unclear. The results obtained in this study will provide data in developing alternative control strategies against sunn pest populations.
