This thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the introduction. In the second chapter, some basic concepts and theorems related to main topic are given. The third chapter is composed of three sections. In this chapter, self adjoint Sturm-Liouville problem defined on the half line is considered. The Jost solution and Jost function of this problem are found and the properties of Jost function are investigated. Moreover, the scattering function of this problem and the properties of the scattering function are found. Also, the Levinson formula of this problem is obtained. In the fourth chapter a boundary value problem is considered which is generated by a Sturm-Liouville equation and boundary condition with quadratic spectral parameter. Similarly to the previous problem, Jost function, scattering function and the properties of the scattering function of this boundary value problem are investigated. By using these properties, the Levinson formula of the related boundary value problem is obtained. Finally, the last chapter is devoted to the analysis and comparison of the results considered in previous chapters.
