| dc.description.abstract | Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye'de yetiştirilen bazı 3-4 yaşlı safkan Arap atlarında çeşitli vücut ölçülerine ait değerleri belirlemek ve bu özellikler arasındaki fenotipik korelasyonlar ile kalıtım derecelerini hesaplamaktır.Bu çalışmada, Ankara, Adana ve Urfa Hipodromlarında geçici olarak barındırılan 18 farklı babaya ait 65 erkek, 76 dişi olmak üzere, 3 ve 4 yaşlı, 141 baş Safkan Arap atından esas tanımlayıcı (cidago yüksekliği, göğüs çevresi, ön göğüs genişliği, beden uzunluğu ve incik çevresi) ve yardımcı tanımlayıcı vücut ölçüleri (göğüs genişliği, sağrı yüksekliği, baş ölçüleri, boyun uzunluğu, bel uzunluğu, omuz uzunluğu, sağrı uzunluğu) incelenmiştir. Tarım ve Köyişleri Bakanlığı Yüksek Komiserler Kurulu Tarafından tutulmuş olan kayıtlardan en az beş tay babası olan aygırlar belirlenmiş ve bu aygırların koşu yapan yavrularına ait veriler alınmıştırİncelenen özelliklere ait hesaplanan ortalamalar; cidago yüksekliği için 150,7 cm, göğüs çevresi için 168,7 cm, ön göğüs genişliği için 33,7 cm, beden uzunluğu için 150,3 cm, incik çevresi için 18,5 cm, göğüs genişliği için 34,0 cm, sağrı yüksekliği için 150,6 cm, baş uzunluğu-1 için 53,0 cm, baş uzunluğu-2 için 19,5, baş uzunluğu-3 için 27,2 cm, boyun uzunluğu için 49,8 cm, bel uzunluğu için 61,9 cm, omuz uzunluğu için 65,4 cm ve sağrı uzunluğu için 50,3 cm olarak tespit edilmiştirKalıtım dereceleri cidago yüksekliği için 0,19±0,196, göğüs çevresi için 0,63±0,294, beden uzunluğu için 0,36±0,238, incik çevresi için 0,13±0,180, göğüs genişliği için 0,13±0,182, sağrı yüksekliği için 0,37±0,240, baş uzunluğu-1 için 0,21±0,201, baş uzunluğu-2 için 0,15±0,185, baş uzunluğu-3 için 0,28±0,219, boyun uzunluğu için 0,31±0,225, bel uzunluğu için 0,03±0,152, omuz uzunluğu için 0,30±0,224 ve sağrı uzunluğu için de 0,12±0,178 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Ön göğüs genişliği için kalıtım derecesi hesaplanamamıştırBu çalışmada elde edilen bulgular, Arap atını tiplere ayırmanın bilimsel bir yaklaşım olmadığını göstermektedir. Dolayısyla damızlık seçiminde saf hayvanların kullanılmasına özen gösterildiği ancak damızlık seçiminde beden ölçülerinin fazla kullanılmadığı anlaşılmaktadır.Abstract The aim of this study is to determine the body measurements of the 3-4 years old Turkish Purebred Arabian horses and to calculate heritabilities and phenotypic correlations among body traitsThis study includes the results of the main descriptives (withers height, chest round, front chest widht, body lenght, shin round) and secondary descriptives (chest widht, rump height, head measures, neck lenght, waist lenght, shoulder lenght and rump lenght) obtained from 65 male and 76 female horses which are 3-4 years old, pertaining to 18 different stallions, that are sheltered on Ankara, Adana and Urfa Hippodromes temporarilyStallions that have at least five colt have been determined by means of the records of Board of High Stewards Council of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and data of these racing colts have been measured and installed into computer programThe average of features measured was determined as follows: Withers height is 150,7 cm; chest round is 168,7 cm, front chest widht is 33,70 cm; body lenght is 150,3 cm; shin round is 18,6 cm; chest widht is 34,0 cm; rump height is 150,6 cm; head measure-1 is 53,0 cm; head measure-2 is 19,5 cm, head mesure-3 is 27,2 cm; neck lenght is 49,8 cm, waist lenght is 61,9 cm; shoulder lenght is 65,4 cm; and rump lenght is 50,3 cmThe heritability values estimated by paternal half-sib correlation method are 0,19±0,196 for withers height; 0,63±0,294 for chest round; 0,36±0,238 for body lenght; 0,13±0,180 for shin round; 0,13±0,182 for chest widht; 0,21±0,201 for head measures-1; 0,15±0,185 for head measures-2; 0,28±0,219 for head measures-3; 0,31±0,225 for neck lenght; 0,03±0,152 for waist lenght; 0,30±0,224 for shoulder lenght; 0,12±0,178 for rump lenght. The heritability degree for front chest widht could not be calculatedThe data from this study demonstrates that classification of the arabian horses into sub-types can not be accepted as a scientific approach. Thus, it is understood that while selecting breeding horses it is taken care to use purebred arabian horses; however measures of the body traits is not used so much in the selection of the breeding horses. | |
