AbstractThe Evaluation of Relations Between Craniofacial Morphology and Nasopharyngeal Airway Considering Natural Head Posture In this research, relations between craniofacial morphology, nasopharngeai airway and natural head posture were evaluated. The material of our research was consisted of lateral cephalograms taken at the natural head and neck posture position from 99 students from the Faculty of Dentistry. The age range of the subjects was between 19 and 29 years. The subjects had no history of previous orthodontic treatment and indicated no permanent teeth loss. Regarding the point of view that head dimension and form might influence posture, the material was established with almost equal number of individuals who have brachycephal, hiperbrachycephal, mesocephal and dolichocephal head types. In our research, we analysed respectively; ® The differences of our cephalometric measurements of posture, airway and craniofacial morphology between head types with variance analysis (ANOVA) and Duncan test, © The correlations between cranial base and posture, cranial base and nasopharyngeal airway parameters,. The correlations between posture and airway measurements in our total material with 99 individuals and in different head type subgroups. As conclusion;. There is an important association of cranial base anatomy and morphology with posture,. There is no association between airway dimensions and posture,. Posture which is determined by cranial base dimensions and anatomy, influences craniofacial morphology primarily.
