Sanayi baca gazlarındaki SO2'in Ca içeren yerli sorbentlerle kuru giderilmesi ve proses mühendisliği açısından incelenmesi
1. WSONOx kuru tekniğinin kullanıldığı baca gaza desülfürizasyonu (BGD) ile, a) düşük sıcaklıkta (500°C) elde edilen desülfojips, b) yüksek sıcaklıkta (900°C) elde edilen desülfojips, 2. Abstract World energy demand grows in parallel to the increase in population. Although the power plants using fossil fuels satisfy this demand on a large scale, they emit pollutants like SO2 to the air. Strict measures are now taken in developed countries to decrease this emission. Many processes for the industrial flue gas desulphurization (FGD) to decrease the S02 emissions were developed. For example, in the so-called WSONOx process, which is one of dry processes, S02 in flue gas is removed by the Ca containing sorbents in a fludized bed. This process has a low cost and ease of operation. In this work, by using Ca containing local Turkish sorbents (Karaağaçlı/MUŞ) dry desulphurization of simulated industrial flue gas was investigated in a laboratory scale stainless steel fluidized bed reactor (46x500 mm) at various temperatures. First, raw sorbent (limestone) was ground in a mill and calcined at 900°C with the 5 % H20 vapour for two hours in the reactor. The calcined basic sorbents with a higher porosity were used for the desulphurization of simulated flue gas. Flue gas composition was regulated in the various volume percents using pressurized tubes and air. During experiments, inlet and outlet SO2 concentrations were continuously measured by gas analyzer (MSI 5600, Schwerte/GERMANY). The fluidized bed reactor was isothermally operated batchwise with a single charge of (15g) particles for obtaining S02-Breakthrough curves. SO2- Breakthrough curves were obtained at large temperature range (200 <, T, °C ^ 900) and S02 feedstock concentration (1000 <, C, ppm S02 ^ 6000) within the range of space velocity (10000 <, S, h"1 ^ 30000). The effects of other components (02, C02, H20) in flue gas were investigated on the S02-Breakthrough curves. In addition, the sorbent utilization rate was determined by operating the reactor in a differential manner by determining of sulfate and sulfite concentrations in the reacted sorbents. Conversion-time data obtained from experiments were tested according to shrinking core model, grain model and random pore model. S02-Breakthrough curves were shifted towards right with increased temperature due to the increase in reaction rate and consequently conversion of sorbent. The result from the experiments with increased concentration of S02 in the feed revealed the acceleration of this occurrence, which indicates much quicker saturation of the sorbent at constant temperature. Residence times of the sorbents in the reactor were increased by the increments of 02 and C02 concentration but not H2O vapour in flue gas. SCVCaO reaction rate was controlled by product (CaSO,») layer diffusion. In order to clear out how to regenerate the sorbent and/or the utilization of by product gypsum thermochemical decomposition of gypsum (desulphogypsum and/or phosphogypsum: CaS04.2H20) in the presence of oil shale (OS) as the source of carbon was studied in a bench scale fluidized bed reactor, with air flowing as the gaseous feed. VI The following materials were used for the thermochemical decomposition of gypsum in the presence of OS: 1. Desulphogypsum from flue gas desulphurization with WSONOx dry method, a) obtaining solid waste at low temperature (500 °C), b) obtaining solid waste at high temperature (900 °C), 2. Desulphogypsum from flue gas desulphurization with BischofF wet method, 3. Phosphogypsum from superphosphat fertilizer factory. Experiments were carried out thermochemically under isothermal conditions in a batchwise manner at different added weight fractions of OS varying from zero to 0.3 (w/w). The temperature range considered was in the range of 850-1000 °C. The gas phase obtained from thermochemical decomposition of the sample was monitored by gas analyser and all process data were recorded on-line at regular intervals by a data acquisition system specifically developed for this purpose. Concentration-time data were evaluated for each run to obtain conversion-time curves. The overall reaction was found to be reaction rate controlled in compliance with the Avrami-nucleation model equation which represented the observed data reasonably well. The rate constant was found to have an activation energy of 184 kJ/mole for the 0.3 weight fraction of OS in the feedstock. Increased operating temperature at a pre-set feed ratio of OS to gypsum increased S02 concentration and decreased CO concentration. This indicated the possibility that the complete oxidation of carbon source would be taking place at higher temperatures as the reducing atmosphere diminished.
