I. ? Abstract The subject of this study is to examine the Roman provincial coinage within the Coin Collections of The Museum At Çorum as a part of an academic survey project named ?Anatolian Numismatics From The Coin Collections of The Museum At Çorum, Coin finds of Smintheion, Salamis, Caunos and Claros Excavations? which held by Associate Prof. Dr. Zeynep Çizmeli Öğün. The collection contains 159 provincial coins, all were examined but only 107 of them could be defined. 15 of these specimen?s output years determined but the remaining 37 were very corroded and neither the output year nor the mint could attribute. All of the examples that were studied are presented in the catalog at the third chapter of the thesis. The evaluation of Roman Provincial Coinage is presented in two primary chapters and their subheadings at the front of the thesis. The last chapter is including the numismatic evaluation of the Museum?s collection. The aim of this study is examining the roman provincial coinage that was issued by over five hundred provincial cities under the Roman Empire, from the first century BC to the third century AD, following the establishment of imperial rule by Octavian in 30 B.C. from excessively rare coins struck in obscure places that could barely justify the title of a city to vast issues of the great metropols of antiquity, from portraits of emperors to philosophers and local dignitaries, from representations of temples, harbours and bridges to local legends. The reason for production and organisation together with pattern of issues discussed, the questions like, how were they put into circulation? Once in circulation how were they used and by whom? were attempt to answer.
