Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi öğrencilerinde anemi prevalensi ve bunu etkileyen faktörlerden beslenme alışkanlıklarının saptanması
Abstract
A.Ü. AbstractIn the study of prevalence of anemia performed on 240 students of Faculty of Medicine,Ankara University, whose age average was 22,6 (±2.06),the ratio has been found as 8,8%.This ratio is 8,9% for girls, and 8,6%for boys. 81,7% of students have volume of family living at the average and belov average of Turkey. When Geographic region from where students involved in the group of research and their anemia conditions were compared.no difference of statistical meaning could be obtained. Father and Mother's educational levels of the group of research and their anemia conditions were compared, and it has been realised that as long as the educational level of father-mother was high, the amount of anemia was decreased. Students 'meal-time omission and their food consumption between meals in respect to their nutrition habits due to causes included in etiology of anemia have been studied and their situations have been compared with anemia. Although the ratio of anemia in students who have consumed good between meals has been found rather lower than the ratio of anemia in those who did not consume food between meals, no result could be obtained in the statistical meaning. Similarly, such factors as smoking, having experienced infectious disease frequently, carrying intestinal parasites, etc. which prepare ground for anemia have been examined in the research group, and their conditions have been compared with anemia. While in the group of students who smoke cigarette and experienced 54 infectious diseases frequently ratio of anemia has increased, statistically no significant difference could be obtained. Besides, no statistically important difference has been found between students' stories about intestinal parasites and their anemia conditions.
