Samuel b. Yahya el-Mağribî, İfhâmu’l-Yehûd adlı eseri ve reddiye geleneğindeki yeri

Abstract

Ortaçağ İslam geleneğinde kaleme alınan reddiyelerin genel bir profilini çizen bu tez, iki bölümden oluşmaktadır. Giriş bölümünde çalışmamızda kullanılan kaynakların tanıtımı yapılmış ve İslamî reddiye geleneğinin tarihî seyri ve üzerinde durduğu konular hakkında bilgi verilmiştir.Tezin birinci bölümünde Samuel el-Mağribî’nin hayatı, aldığı eğitim ve eserleri incelenmiştir. Bu eserler içerisinde, tezimizin konusu olan İfhâmu’l-Yehûd’un muhtevası, dil ve anlatım özellikleri ve el yazmaları ve edisyonları hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Bunun yanı sıra, Mağribî’nin Yahudi peygamberi Samuel ve Hz. Muhammed’i gördüğü rüyaları ve İslam’a girişi ele alınmıştır. Bu bölümün sonunda ise Mağribî’in İslam’a girişini tenkit eden bir mektup ve onun cevabı analiz edilmiştir.Tezin ikinci bölümünde Mağribî’nin ve İfhâmu’l-Yehûd’un reddiye geleneğindeki yeri tespit edilmiştir. Bu bölümde önce İfhâmu’l-Yehûd’da ele alınan reddiye konuları belirlenmiş ve diğer bazı reddiyelerle karşılaştırılmıştır. Bunun yanı sıra, İfhâmu’l-Yehûd’un kendine özgü yönleri tetkik edilmiştir. Bu bölümde son olarak, Mağribî’nin Yahudilik ve İslam hakkındaki bilgisi ve yorumu değerlendirilmiş ve onun önceki reddiyelerden ne kadar etkilendiği ve kendinden sonra yazılanları ne ölçüde etkilediği ortaya konmuştur.Sonuç bölümünde ise Mağribî’nin İfhâmu’l-Yehûd’da yer verdiği bütün reddiye konularıyla ilgili genel bir değerlendirme yapılmış ve onun reddiye geleneğindeki yeri tespit edilmiştir.Anahtar Kavramlar: Samuel el-Mağribî, İfhâmu’l-Yehûd, İslamî Reddiye Geleneği, Yahudilik, Tevrat, Beşâirü’n-Nübüvve, Tahrif ve Tebdil, Nesih.AbstractThis dissertation consists of an introduction section, two chapters, a conclusion section and a bibliography section. In the introduction part, I examine and evaluate the methods and the sources of the dissertation. Also I give a general outline on the course of the history of the İslamic Polemical Tradition and the issues that it emphasizes.The first chapter mainly investigates the life, education and the works of Samaw’al al-Maghribî. The chapter examines the content of İfhâm al-Yahûd and its language, narrative features, manuscripts and critical editions. Additionally, the dreams of Maghribî about Jewish prophet Samuel and Muhammed (peace be upon him) and his conversion to Islam are discussed. This chapter also analyzes the correspondence of Maghribî with an anonymous accuser.The second chapter investigates the place of Maghribî and İfhâm al-Yahûd in the Polemical Tradition. Firstly the polemical arguments of İfhâm al-Yahûd are defined and they are compared with other polemics. Next, the original aspects of İfhâm al-Yahûd are examined. In this chapter also the enlightment and the rendition of Maghribî about Judaism and Islam are evaluated and the influence of him on the polemical literature is discussed. In the conclusion part, a generalized evaluation of the thesis is presented .
