One of the possiblemechanism of aspirin resistance is incomplete suppression of thromboxane generation byaspirin. Methods: Patients scheduled for elective coronary stenting enrolled to this trial. Subjects whounderwent coronary stenting, 180 patients, were divided into two groups according to loadingtime of clopidogrel more or less than 2 hours before coronary intervention. Major adversecardiac events (MACE) were reported during the follow up period of 1 year. Results: MACE was reported in %11.7 of patients (n=21). Urinary 11-dehydrothromboxaneB2 levels were significantly higher in patients who developed MACE (59+21 ng/mmolcreatinin) than the participants who did not report adverse event (39+23 ng/mmol creatinin)(p<0.0001).Patients were divided into four groups according to the urinary 11- dehydrothromboxane B2levels. Increased rate of cardiovascular events demonstrated with every increasing quartile ofurinary 11- dehydrothromboxane B2 levels.According to the increasing quartiles of urinary 11- dehydrothromboxane B2 levels, adversecardiovascular event rates in one year were also rised in the group which clopidogrel wasloaded in two hours before coronary angiography (p=0.02). In the group which clopidogrelwas loaded before two hours, adverse cardiovascular event rates didn?t increase according tothe increasing quartiles of urinary 11- dehydrothromboxane B2 levels (p=0.15).Conclusion: Early administration of clopidogrel two hours before coronary angiography maybe associated with decreased major adverse cardiovascular event rates in aspirin resistantpatients who had undergone elective coronary intervention.trAspirin direnciklopidogrelkoroner anjiyografikoroner stentyüklemezamanıaspirin resistanceclopidogrelcoronary angiographycoronary stentloadingtimeElektif koroner anjiyografi yapılan hastalarda klopidogrel yükleme zamanı ve aspirin direncinin majör kardiyovasküler olaylar üzerine etkileriEffects of clopidogrel loading time and aspirin resistance on major cardiovascular adverse events in patients undergoing elective coronary angiographyMedicalThesis
