Bölgenin 1966/67 üretim döneminden başlayarak pamuk ekim alam, üretim, tüketim, stok miktarları ile iç ve dış ticaret sorunları incelenmiştir. Ayrıca pamuk fiyat oluşumunda etkili faktörler analiz edilmiş ve pamuk üretim maliyeti, iç ve dış pazarlama kanalları belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, Türkiye toplam pamuk ekim alam ve üretiminde 1991/92 döneminde Çukurova Bölgesi'nin aldığı pay sırasıyla %27.98 ve %25.54 olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu yılda pamuk üretim maliyeti 3.212.57 Tl/kg olarak hesaplanmıştır. Bölge tarım işletmelerinde yapılan çalışmada, 63.99 saat/da işgücü, 2.96 saat/da makina çekigücü kullanıldığı belirlenmiştir. Bölge pamuk üretiminin %35.9'unu satın alan Tarım Satış Kooperatifleri'nin kalite standartlarım belirlemede önemli oldukları saptanmıştır. Abstract Çukurova Region which is one of the important cotton production, industry and trade centre of Turkey was studied in this research work. The cotton cultivated area, production, consumption, stock amounts with internal and external trade problems of this region studied for a period beginning from 1966/67 production years. Furthermore, the factors affecting cotton prices were analyzed and the cotton production costs and, internal and external marketing channels were determined. According to results of this research, the share of Çukurova Region in total cotton cultivated area and cotton production in Turkey are 27.98% and 25.54% respectively in 1991/92 season. The production costs of cotton was calculated as 3.212.57 Tl per kg for that year. 63.99 hours of labour 2.96 hours of tractor per decare is used on the region farms studied. It was found out that the Agricultural Sales Cooperatives which are determining the cotton quality standards purchasedIV 35.9% of the cotton produced in this region. The cotton lint prices for 1992/93 production year was estimated as 10.552.26 Tl per kg regression analyze depending on the Adana Commodity Exchange data. Supporting prices of the Government is affecting the cotton lint prices of Commodity Exchange. The correlation coefficients which were calculated between Commodity Exchange of Adana cotton lint prices and seed cotton support prices and, Commodity Exchange cotton lint prices and cotton supply of following years and, Commodity Exchange cotton lint prices and domestic consumption are 0.982, 0.472 and 0.673 respectively during 1966-1992 period. In this period the share of Çukurova and South Eastern Anatolia Regions in total cotton export of Turkey varied between 3936% and 83.71%. It was determined that the Agricultural Sales Cooperatives and export agencies take part in the external trade and, the Agricultural Sales Cooperatives, middlemen, Sümerbank (a State Economic Enterprise), private factories and Adana Commodity Exchange take part in internal trade mostly.
