In order to reach this aim, 591 people between the ages of 18-60 were asked to answer demographic information form, Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS), Experience in Close Relationship Inventory, Social Comparison Scale, Interpersonal Relationship Rating Scale together with the behaviours concerning anger and interpersonal anger reaction subscales of Multidimensional Anger Scale. After the analysis of the data, there were some basic effects of socio-demographic variables like education and age on alexithymia, attachment, interpersonal relation styles and some of the anger subscales. Those who scored higher on TAS received higher anxious and avoidant attachment points, while scoring lower on secure attachment points. Also, their self-perception seemed to be lower with less nourishing style and more inhibiting style used in interpersonal relationships. Besides, concerning anger; they are found to behave more aggressively and show revengeful, introverted and neglectful reactions more often. After correlational analysis, it is found that as the total points acquired on TAS increased; anxious attachment, avoidant attachment, inhibitive style, anxious behaviour, aggressive behaviour, reactions for revenge and points on introverted and neglectful reactions sub scales increased whereas scores on secure attachment, nourishing style and self-perception sub scales decreased.According to the regression analysis made, the level of education, secure attachment, anxious attachment, avoidant attachment, self-perception, nourishing relation style, and concerning anger; introverted reaction, aggressive behaviour and relaxed behaviour altogether seemed to explain 38% of the variance. The variables of level of education, secure attachment, nourishing relation style, aggressive behaviour, and relaxed behaviour are also found to be significant predictors of alexythmia on their own. These results show that there is a close relation between alexythmia and attachment, self-perception, interpersonal relation styles and anger. Taking the effects of these variables while using therapy and training programmes to work with people with alexithymia is thought to prove useful into consideration in the field of clinical psychology.trAleksitimiBağlanmaKişiler arası ilişkilerAleksitimi: Bağlanma, kendilik algısı, kişilerarası ilişki tarzları ve öfke değişkenleri açısından bir değerlendirmeAlexithymia: An evaluation on attachment, self-perception, interpersonal relation styles and anger variablesmasterThesis
