Birinci bölümde kuramsal çerçeve içinde oyun, kültür ve eğitim kavramları bağlamında eğitimin tarihi incelenecektir. İkinci bölüm yaratıcı drama ve kukla disiplinlerinin tarihi ve kullanım alanlarına dair bilgi bölümünü içermektedir. Üçüncü bölümde bu iki alanın ayrı ayrı ve birlikte kullanım amaçlarına değinilerek ülkemizdeki durumuna dair bulgular içermektedir. Araştırmada kukla ve drama uygulamalarına dair literatür taramasının yanında, İstanbul ilinin üç büyük ilçesinde 277 öğretmen anketiyle durum belirlemesi yapılmıştır. Öğretmenlerin materyal hazırlama süreci, yaş grubu özellikleri, hizmet içi eğitim almaması vb. gerekçelerle rağbet etmedikleri kukla sanatının, yaratıcı drama ile kullanıldığında hem eğitimin kazanımlarına hem de ders içi süreçlerine olumlu etki edeceği düşünülmektedir. Son bölümde anketlerden ve literatür taramasından çıkan sonuçlara göre öneriler yapılmaktadır. "Creative Drama And Puppet As An Education Method" titled thesis was prepared to examine the usage of plays and puppets in education and indicate the place and significance of them in daily education life by starting from the historical findings. In the first chapter, the history of education is going to be examined in the context of play, culture and education concepts with in the theoretical frame. Second chapter contains information about the usage areas of creative drama and puppet disciplines. Third chapter mentions the purpose of using these two disciplines both together and separately. It also includes the determinations about the situation in our country. In addition to literature research about the practices of creative drama and puppet, a case study was also made by conducting a survey to 277 teachers who work in three large provinces of Istanbul. It is thought that, although the puppet art is not demanded by the teachers because of different reasons such as; difficulty in preparing materials, age group features, not being attended to in-service trainings etc., it will have a positive impact on both educational achievements and in-class processes when it is used with creative drama.
