Our thesis suggests that there is really such a pressure on women, and this oppression has different dimensions such as social, psychological, economic and political. The body is a social construction loaded with social meanings. In the historical course, woman has represented the body, in the dichotomy of mind/body, which was shaped by a masculine understanding. Therefore, the social meanings attributed to the female body are much more than male body. As such, the interventions made on the female body will of course be much more. Beauty pressure is also one of these interventions. This pressure may not seem like a direct intervention at first sight but it has besieged the surroundings of women with the indirect ways. This thesis has examined this besiegement and tried to understand it's nature, context and its processing mechanisms. It was seen in the literature review and field study that there is such pressure on women and it emerges as a compelling social phenomenon.trBedenKadınBedenin güzelleştirilmesi baskısı ve kadınThe beauty pressure on woman bodymasterThesis
