| dc.description.abstract | In this thesis, "Cappadocia Region in Ancient Greek and Roman Periods", the political history, geographical borders, economy and social and cultural life of Cappadocia Region during Ancient Greek and Roman Periods were scrutinized. All the texts in Greek and Latin providing information about the subject were scanned, and subsequently evaluated together with inscriptions and coins relating the region. It was found out that the Cappadocia Region sustained the prominence it had in all respects at the time of earlier civilizations during Greek and Roman Periods as well. It was also observed that the region occupied an important place in the politics of Greek and Roman states thanks to its geographical position. It was stressed that Cappadocia, which did not attract the attention of Greeks and Romans as a residential place, was in a close relationship with these civilizations both in political and cultural issues. Besides, it was detected that the people of Cappadocia, who remained adherent to their local culture over the course of time, tried to adapt with the Greek and Roman civilizations. | tr_TR |
| dc.description.ozet | "Eski Yunan ve Roma Döneminde Kappadokia Bölgesi" adlı bu tezde, Kappadokia bölgesinin Yunan ve Roma dönemindeki siyasi tarihi, coğrafi sınırları, ekonomisi ile toplumsal ve kültürel yaşamı irdelendi. Konu hakkında bilgi veren Yunanca ve Latince tüm metinler taranıp, bölgeyi ilgilendiren yazıtlar ve sikkelerle birlikte değerlendirildi. Kappadokia bölgesi, daha önceki uygarlıklarda her açıdan sahip olduğu önemini, Yunan ve Roma döneminde de sürdürdüğü belirlendi. Bunun yanı sıra, bölgenin coğrafi konumu gereği Yunan ve Roma devletlerinin siyasetinde etkili olduğu anlaşıldı. Yunanlılar ve Romalılar tarafından yaşamak için ilgi görmeyen Kappadokia'nın, bu medeniyetlerle hem siyasi hem de kültürel alanda yakın ilişki içerisinde olduğu vurgulandı. Ayrıca tarihsel süreçte yerel kültürüne bağlı kalan Kappadokia halkının, Yunan ve Roma uygarlığına uyum sağlamaya çalıştıkları tespit edildi. | tr_TR |
