Stainbuster ile yapılan politür işleminin yüzey pürüzlülüğü üzerindeki etkisinin karşılaştırmalı olarak değerlendirilmesi

Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı; üç farklı politür tekniğinin sonik cihazlar kullanılarak yapılan diş taşı temizliği nedeniyle oluşan yüzey pürüzlülüğü üzerinde etkisini değerlendirmektir. Çekilmiş ve distile su içerisinde muhafaza edilmiş 60 adet diş, sonik bir cihaz kullanılarak bukko-lingual yönde uygulanarak diş taşları uzaklaştırılmıştır. Ortaya çıkan yüzey pürüzlülüğü profilometre ile ölçülmüştür ve bundan sonra örnekler üç gruba ayrılmıştır. Birinci gruptaki örneklere air-flow kullanılarak, ikinci gruptaki örneklere döner lastik ve pat kullanılarak ve son gruptaki örneklere de Stainbuster kullanılarak politür yapılmıştır. Profilometre ile yüzey pürüzlülüğü değerlendirmek için alınan ölçümler her aşamada kaydedilmiştir. Pat ve Stainbuster kullanılan gruplarda yüzey pürüzlülük değerlerinde anlamlı bir azalma saptanmıştır ve azalma bu gruplar arasında benzerdir. Air-flow kullanılan grupta yüzey pürüzlülüğünde ise anlamlı bir azalma tespit edilememiştir.AbstractThe present in vitro study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of three polishing procedures in reducing root roughness caused by sonic scaling. Buccal enamel surface areas of extracted, distile water-stored 60 teeth were scaled in a bucco-lingual direction by a sonic scaler. Then all the specimens were cut from the semento-enamel junction. The crown of the tooth is seperated from the root .The resulting roughness of the enamel surface was measured by a profilometer. The specimens were then split into three groups. The first group was polished by an air-powder polishing instrument, the second group was polished by a rotating rubber cup and prophylaxis paste and the last group was polished by a new bur, Stainbuster. Surface roughness (Ra) and the other parameters were recorded for each step in the procedures. Surface roughness was similar and significantly reduced In the rubber cup /paste group and in the Stainbuster group. A slight increase in the air-powder polishing group values was observed, where this was not found statistically significant.
