Abstract
Many things we see in social life are in social entrepreneurship activity. For example, the suspended bread project is a social entrepreneurship activity. The motivation in this project is to provide the most basic need for individuals with insufficient financial situation The aim of this personally done project is to offer a solution to a social problem without creating a financial burden on the individual who makes the attempt. The project, which started as a small step at first, is now carried out in almost every city in Turkey and is growing day by day. Social entrepreneurship is the entrepreneurial activity that starts as a small step and gradually grows in the social and environmental area, creating social benefits (Smith and Stevens, 2010). There are several types of social entrepreneurship; providing social benefit in a small area, producing a solution to a problem in society and leading a social transformation. Despite this diversity, the main purpose is common (Zahra, 2009); to provide social benefit by producing a solution to a social problem (Shaw, 2004; Mair & Marti, 2006). Social entrepreneurs share the same characteristics as traditional for-profit entrepreneurs: taking risks, being proactive, independent, being innovative (Ratten & Babiak, 2010). Apart from that, it has many different features. In the first place, social entrepreneurs are people who work for a social purpose and use business ideas for social benefit rather than marketability (Fowler, 2000). For this reason, social entrepreneurs aim to provide social welfare by obtaining a sustainable benefit rather than financial gain. In order to create an activity that provides social benefit, the social entrepreneur must first intend. Because in order for a behavior to be implemented, an intention for that behavior must first be formed (Ajzen, 1991). There are many internal and external motivation sources and triggering power elements that create the intention. Five factors are examined in this study. Empathy, philanthropy, intrinsic and extrinsic religiosity, social support, and self-efficacy were the factors examined. Of these factors, only intrinsic and extrinsic religiosity does not have a significant effect on social entrepreneurial intention. All other variables have an indirect effect on social entrepreneurial intention.
