Abstract
In this thesis, it is tried to explain the concept, elements and determinants of international competitiveness, Porter approach and competitive development stages, distinction between comparative and competitive advantages, quality competition and competitiveness indicators.Then, the definition, initial findings, theoretical approaches and measuring methods/indicators of intra-industry trade is examined.Moreover, Turkish manufacturing industries are classified regarding to competition modes as quality and price competition. Finally, the relations of international competitiveness and intra-industry trade in Turkish manufacturing industries are tested during the years 1995-2005 using panel data.
