Abstract
101 ABSTRACT The city Nevşehir is situated in Central Anatolia, on the plateu of Kızılırmak. It is bounded on the east by Kayseri; on the north and on the northeast by Yozgat; on the south by Niğde; on the west by Aksaray and Kırşehir. It is highness is 1150 m. above the sea level. It is comprising 5.512.620 km. The city area is stuated on the large plateu. Total population is 289.509. Towns of Nevşehir are, Acıgöl, Avanos, Derinkuyu, Gülşehir, Hacıbektaş, Kozaklı and Ürgüp. It is settlement history began with neolithic period. The Hittites, Frigs, Persians, Hellenes, the Romans were been effective in city culture. Christianism caused to entirely variation of culture in the Roman- Byzantine periods. Göreme, Ortahisar, Ürgüp were the built in these regions reliefs which decorated the walls of churchs are the products of Kapadokia and Byzantine arts. Turk-Muslim of Turk. It is one of the oldest cettlement place of Anatolia. In this studies we will inverstigarte about the increase and decrease in the population of Nevşehir province between 1935-1990.
