Abstract
The name Mu'tezile was used among Muslims, a century before the life period of Vasıl b. Ata who was accepted as the founder of Mu'tazila. This usage, totally, carries a political character. For many reasons, in different periods, different meanings have been imposed on the name Mu'tazila. One of the most important problems of Muslims, that makes them busy until today and makes them divided into many groups, is "İmamet" (administration). This started immediately after the death of Hz.Muhammed. The arguments of administration problems have been also starting point of Theology that mostly deals with abstract things and theoretic among Islamic subject. Although the first representative of Mu'tazila displayed more objective and consequent approach about the problems of administration than the others, the latter pioneers of Mu'tazili put themselves in a race, about responding to the theory of Şii administration. For this reason, they have come together at the same point with Ehl-i Sunnah In the period of the opposite group Mu'tazila, insisting on the liberty of voluntary and due to the fact of human responsibility, displayed and opposite attitude against Emevi administration, which changed the administration style in the sovereignty and tried to provide its legality with compulsion/determinist doctrine, immemorial destiny doctrine and with pretension that has sources from indi vine. Mu'tazila, as an opposite group, is not only different from the example of fanatic Harici, that always threaten the unity and integrity of the community, but also different from the example of Murcii as an opposite group, that cause moral connivance and irresponsibility. Mu'tazila. in the period of power, applied a terrifying politics against its rivals by using the power. Abbasi administration tried to destroy to opposition group by starting the formal prosecution via the representatives of Mu'tezili and their ideas. The procedure of "Minna" (prosecution) effected deeply on both the progression of Mu'tazila and Islamic thought. The representatives of Mu'tezili, who were the members of Baghdad scholar, that worked with the power group, in applying this political approach, had to endure the result of this procedure. To say informally, Mu'tazila had to foot the bill for the formal prosecution.
