Abstract

This PhD thesis comprises three main chapters.Chapter one covers life and works of Al-Dabûsî.Chapter two covers Dabûsî?s interpretation of dalîl, including the issues of lâ dalîl, taqlîd (imitation), ilhâm (inspiration), istishab al-hal (continuity), tard and reason related methodological proofs.Chapter three covers primary shar ? î proofs like The Book (The Qur?ân), Hadith, Ijma ? , and secondary proofs such as istihsan and the opinions from the Companions and from the Successors
