Başarının değerlendirilmesinde Algılanan Halo Etkisi Ölçeği'nin geliştirilmesi
Abstract
What is aimed in this study is to develop a valid and reliable scaling instrument related to determining the halo effect perceived by 6th, 7th and 8th grade students in their evaluation of the success and to analyze the scores acquired from this scale. Sixth, 7th and 8th grade students having education in central elementary schools of Tokat form the target population of the study. Scale?s test form that includes 38 clauses was conducted with on 767 6th, 7th and 8th grade students chosen randomly and a final form with 32 clauses was created as a result of exploratory factor analysis carried out to define the structure validity. The final form was implemented to 308 elementary school 6th, 7th and 8th grade students chosen randomly to carry out confirmatory factor analysis. Acquired data were analyzed in accordance with the steps of scale development period. Cronbach?s Alpha coefficient of internal consistency was 0.94, test-retest reliability coefficient was 0.83. As a result of the analysis, a proven valid and reliable scale that consists of 5 sub-dimensions and 32 clauses and that can quantify the halo effect perceived by 6th, 7th and 8th grade students was acquired. Comparisons related to total scores taken from the Perceived Halo Effect Scale according to the students? gender, school type, socio-economic level and class level were made. Whereas the scores of the students taken from the Perceived Halo Effect Scale significantly differentiate according to gender, there was determined no significant difference according to the class level, socio-economic level and school type. There was noticed a significant and negative difference among students? total scores, school report scores and SBS (Placement Test) results.
