Demografik ve duyuşsal değişkenlerin ölçme ve değerlendirme dersi başarısını ve genel akademik başarıyı yordama gücü
Özet
The aim of this study, which was carried out with 221 senior students attended measurement and evaluation course in 2011-2012 academic year at the Faculty of Educational Sciences at Ankara University, is to explore the attitude towards measurement and evaluation course, the attitude towards teaching profession and the self-efficacy perceptions of teaching, to determine their effects on the achievement in measurement and evaluation course and general academic achievement and also to find out the variables predicting the achievement in measurement and evaluation course and general academic achievement. This is a quantitative correlational research. In accordance with the main purpose of this research, the relationship between the predictor variables and the criterion (predicted) variables were analysed through correlational and regression analysis techniques. In data analysis, Pearson Product-Moment Correlation coefficient for continuous variables and Cramer V coefficient for discrete variables were calculated; also in order to explore the variables predicting the achievement in measurement and evaluation course and general academic achievement, Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis technique was used. The frequency and percentiles were calculated for the description of preservice teachers? demographics. As a result of the research, it has been found out that the variables of gender and father?s educational status are the significant predictors of both the general academic achievement and achivement in measurement and evaluation course for the preservice teachers. The demographics are the siginificant predictors of both general academic achievement and achievement in measurement and evaluation course. The results also indicate that the affective variables do not predict siginificantly both general academic achievement and achievement in measurement and evaluation course. This research comprises of five sections.
