Poliakrilamit/Na-montmorillonit ve poli(2-hidroksi etil metakrilat)/Na-montmorillonit nanokompozitlerin sentezi ve karakterizasyonu
Özet
This work focuses on the synthesis, characterization and investigation of some properties of polymer/clay nanocomposites. Nanocomposites consisted of polyacrylamide and poly(2-hydroxy ethyl methacrylate) with Na-montmorillonite is prepared by in-situ polymerization with an radical initiator (benzoyl peroxide) in aqueous medium. By changing the concentration of monomer several polymer/clay nanocomposites is prepared and the resulting nanocomposites is characterized with X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The obtained nanocomposites exhibited better thermal stability than pure polymer. Scanning electron microscopy revealed that homogenous dispersion of the montmorillonite in the polymer matrix. Furthermore; adsorptive, moisture retain, and water uptake properties of nanocomposites is also studied.
