50 SUMMARY Some Morphologic Characteristics and Blood Polimorphism of the Horses imported from Hungary This study clarifies whether the horses imported from Hungary to Turkey in 1995 and used as police horses are available to be police horses by finding out their morphologic structures, blood groups and serum protein polymorphism. This study also aims to point out the place of the horses that have the blood of Arab and English horses among the world horses by obtaining the scientific data that will be the basis of future breeding programs. The material of this study includes the 30 Hungarian horses consisted of 21 stallion and 9 mare of Police Department of Ankara. Determining of morphological traits of the horses was done by learning the color, head and leg markings and ages of the horses and by measuring some body parts. In order to learn the blood groups and serum protein polymorphism, the blood put into the tubes were analyzed in the Laboratory of Genetic and Bood Groups in Etlik Veterinarian Searching Institute. The blood groups of horses were determined from the bloods by hemolysis technique. Protein polymorphism was done by the methods of starch and polyacrilamid gel elektroforesis in order to find out the serum Albumin (AT), Transferrin (Tf), Esteraz (Es), Group Spesific Protein (Gc) and Alfa- IB-Protein (A1B). Different colors and head and leg markings were found in different ages of Hungarian horses. In the body measures, it was found out that there were middle high wither with rump height, body length suitable to wither and rump, a well developed breast debth with breast circumference, suitable to these a wide front breast structure, a thick shin bone, wide forehead and ear length suitable to head. Moreover, it was found out that the Hungarian horses had a strong skeletal and muscle structure and a strong body. Wither and rump height, body length, chest girth and body weight were 163,5; 163,2; 165,1; 185,6 cm ad 503,8 kg in Sport; 163,3; 162,3; 163,5; 181,8 cm and 486,3 kg in Furisio horses. The blood groups of the horses were localized in A, D, P, Q and U systems and had 16 different phenotypes.51 The blood groups of the horses were localized in A, D, P, Q and U systems and had 16 different phenotypes. Albumin structures found out in starch gel elektroforesis occured in 3 phenotypes that were determined by Al andAl allelles. In the study performed in polyacrilamid gel elektroforesis, 15 phenotypes determined by 7 allells which are Ti°, Tf"1, Tf*2, Tf\ Tf2, Tf°, Tf* in transferrin systems. Esteras protein locus 4 phenotypes determined by alleles of Es, Es and Es. In Gc protein system, 2 phenotypes determined by allells of Gcs and Gc. In Xk (A1B) system, Xk KK and Xk KS phenotypes determined by aliels of Xks and XkK As a result, it was found out that the Hungarian horses had morphologic characteristics of the horses like Arabian, Troughbred, Holstein and Hanover. Hungarian horses also resemble to these horses with their blood groups and serum proteins in their genecy. They have a different bred among world horse races by systematic mating of different horses. Hungarian horses are available to be police horses because of having a huge and strong body structure. Therefore, Hungarian horses can be used in the production programs that will be done in the future. Key Words: Horse, Blood Polimorphism, Morphological characteristics.
