Prof. Dr. Ahmet Teatik In this research, four different commercial broi ler lines(Ross, Hybro, Lohmann, Hubbard) used in our country were compared with each other with regard to per formance characteristics such as, live weight, live weight gain, feed consumption, feed efficiency, livability and performance index. Also incidence of various kinds of skele tal deformities, particularly tibial dyschondroplasia and twisted legs were examined. The results of this experiment revealed that there were differences between genotype groups at some weeks and age periods with respect to various kinds of performance characteristics, but the performance indices were not dif ferent throughout the experiment. Any tibial dyschondroplasia incedence was not ob served in all genotype groups. However, significant diffe rences were determined between genotypes with regard to twisted legs in all age periods. Live weights of four genotype groups at the end of growing period were found as following, 2122.7, 2158.5, 2135.0 and 2216.9, respectively. Feed consumption during growing period were found; 4802.7, 5156.3, 5126.9 and4932.7, respectively; feed efficiency values were].2.38, 2.52, 2.47 and 2.41, respectively. Incidence of twisted legsvi of genotype groups were recorded weekly for eight weeks growing period and average values were found: 1.08 $, 0.54 #, 7.55 # and 11.17 1» respectively.
