Abstract
Consumption is an action that expresses continuity from the moment people are born to the moment of death. As a matter of fact, while consumption was an act that was carried out only in the context of survival and needs, today factors such as pleasure, fun, happiness, morale, wealth, status, belonging or hobby take place in the birth. In this context, while the age we are in is expressed as a consumption society, people also get caught in the consumption frenzy. In this study, it is to examine the sociological results of religion in the axis of new consumption patterns. Because the effect of religion's consumption and consumption on religion is obvious. In this context, new consumption patterns have emerged in the life styles of religious conservatives. The aim of this study is to present a sociological analysis of the consumption behaviors of religious conservatives by theologian academics at Ankara University. In this respect, the factors affecting consumption on the religious conservative group were examined, and the effects of consumption and consumption of religion on religion were discussed. In the first part, religiosity, the conceptual dimension of consumption, consumer society, consumption and religion are dealt with, while in the second part, the views of academicians at the faculty of theology at Ankara University on the consumption behaviors and patterns of the religious conservative segment are examined. In the research, qualitative method was preferred as a method, and the analysis of in-depth interviews with theologian academicians were included.
