Abstract
This research is about hand made carpet workers in Iran-Tabriz. Iran is one of the most important counties in carpet production and Tabriz is the major center of this production. Hand made carpet traditionally has been produced by rural women in their home and during the industrialization which caused huge amount of immigration from rural areas to cities couldn't make any change in this sector. These women continued to their informal work. They produce carpet in their own home or even in informal workshops. Carper weaving is one of the mostly informal sector in Iran. These workers are continuing this job with lowest income without any systematic control, insurance or any other bureaucratic process. This research is focusing on class-consciousness,working situation and daily activities of carpet weaving women workers which are working in their own home and in workshops. The relation between worker and employer in the carpet weaving field is mostly different from other production relations cause carpet weaving is less industrialized sector of production in Iran.On the other hand patriarchy has been preventing carpet weaving to become industrialized.Patriarchy has been using ideological values such as motherhood and housekeeping to convince women worker of accepting hard situation of carpet weaving.Working inside home make these women worker lessconscious about their class and benefits
